From the State of Florida hails the Trinity River Band with their third release in less than three years. This is probably their best effort yet. The band is the Harris family consisting of Mike Harris (guitar), Lisa Harris (bass) and siblings Sarah Harris (mandolin), Joshua Harris (banjo, resonator guitar), and Brianna Harris (fiddle). Guest artists are Josh Williams (vocals) and Jason Barie (fiddle). The three youngsters are very accomplished musicians and the sibling harmonies are a joy to the ears.
Their music run the gamut of country, gospel, and bluegrass. Selections include Ernest Tubb’s “I Hung My Head And Cried,” Pure Prairie League’s “Amie,” Carl Jackson’s “The Farmers Wife,” Dolly Parton’s “Oh The Pain Of Loving You,” and “Rose Of Paradise” made famous by Waylon Jennings. Two songs are from the pens of Jeff Barbra and Sarah Pirkle: the gospel “When I Come Home Lord” and the title cut “Today It Don’t Look Like Rain.” Mike Harris contributes two compositions “What Did I Ever Do?” and “From Now On.” Joshua Harris contributes the instrumental “Riptide.” The band has matured and become a cohesive and tight unit, now touring nationally.
